07/17/2004 -How God uses the Hebrew word rendered "jealousy" (Numbers 5:14; 25:11; Ps. 69:9)
-God links together His expression of anger with jealousy (Zech 8:2; S. of S. 8:6; Eccl. 4:4)

-Jealous = Zealous (Num. 25:6-11; 2 Kings 19:31; Ps. 69:9)
-Envy caused by Christ and His Elect doing right works (Ecc. 4:4; Mark 14:3-6; John 10:32) 
-When God is angry it is to magnify His Name
-5 different occasions of jealousy:
1) Satan's jealousy over the Lord Jesus
2) Esau against Jacob 
3) God's jealousy for His Name (against those who rebel against Him) 
4) God's jealousy to have a purified people for Himself  
5) God's jealousy over ALL of the unsaved on the Last Day
-2 Reports given to God: one true & one false (Rom. 11:2-3; Matt. 10:25; Acts 13:45) 
 -God is jealous for His Elect Bride and He will take vengeance (Nahum 1:2)
